Vasavadatta Cement

Vasavadatta Cement is a unit of Kesoram Industries that belongs to the B.K. Birla group of companies. It has a state-of-the-art cement plant of 2.0 MT PA located at Sedam in the state of Karnataka. One of Primasonics® most recent contracts from them was for the supply and installation of six Primasonics® Acoustic Cleaners Model PAS-75 and two Primasonics® Acoustic Cleaners Model PAS-230.

The contract was the result of Vasavadatta Cement entering Project III at their Sedam plant and the strong professional relationship built up over the past six years between them and Primasonics.

Due to this successful working relationship, and the excellent results the acoustic cleaners had produced in Projects I and II, Vasavadatta Cement were confident in the ability of the acoustic cleaning technology and decided to install Primasonics Audiosonic Acoustic Cleaners at the planning and construction stage of Project III to prevent any bridging or ratholing build up. Following the completion by Vasavadatta Cement of Primasonics application questionnaires the acoustic cleaner models were specified by Primasonics for a 100T coal silo, 6895T cement silo and a 3000T fly ash silo.

The monsoon season in India which runs from June to September produces very high humidity which can cause material to adhere to surfaces rather than flowing, the very strong rains also affect the feed stock materials storage and transportation of these materials becomes very problematic. With these very difficult working conditions Vasavadatta Cement wanted to be sure Primasonics understood the wide range of conditions the acoustic cleaners would have to cope with. In order to ensure the correct models of acoustic cleaner were specified to overcome the material build up problems Vasavadatta Cement were encountering in the early project stages the company was introduced to Primasonics trained sales agent in India. Throughout the duration of Vasavadatta Cement’s growth, Primasonics’ Managing Director and Technical Director made numerous visits along with the agent to the Sedam plant to provide installation advice and training regarding the acoustic cleaning technology.

Primasonics are ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001 accredited company this was an extremely important point for Vasavadatta Cement as they are a large modern plant who are also ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001 and IS 18001 accredited.

Over the past six years Primasonics have supplied Vasavadatta Cement with many Audiosonic Acoustic Cleaners for applications such as cement silos, coal hoppers and fly ash silos.
