STORMY WEATHER

There has been lots of stormy weather about lately which caused a lot of ‘debonding’ to occur. In this case the debonded material was trees, house roofs etc. It was coincidental then that I was reading an interesting article on the NASSA web site concerning their Cassini spacecraft which has been studying Saturn’s moons especially Titan. They discovered that Titan was a very active moon and like Earth and Mars it has a very active dust cycle, i.e. dust storms.

Come Fly With Me

It is great to have some hot, dry weather in the UK lately instead of our usual rain filled grey skies! It gave me the chance to get out into the garden, if not to work then at least to sit in it. I always find it relaxing to watch the bees extracting the pollen from the flowers. However, such weather also brings a couple of unwelcome visitors, namely flies and wasps. They can be as troublesome as cement blocking in a silo or fly ash building up on boiler tubes.

100? – 500? – 1,000? – well actually the answer is of over 7,000! With 90% of these languages used by less than 100,000 people. Indeed, over a million people converse in 150 – 200 languages and 46 languages have just a single speaker!
